Sharing Park Spaces is Everyone’s Business, Including Pet-Owners

Are you a dog owner? Looking for somewhere new to walk your pet? While exploring, we ask you to remember that Edmonton’s many parks, off-leash areas and greenspaces are there for everyone to enjoy, including those without pets. The City reminds pet owners to use greenspaces responsibly and keep companions on-leash at City parks where required.

Here are some tips on how to be a responsible pet owner at the park:

  • License and vaccinate your dog
  • Use voice commands your dog will obey
  • Pick up after your dog
  • Be courteous to others using the park
  • Have your leash ready, even in off-leash areas

Want to let your dog run and play freely? Visit one of the City’s 40 off-leash areas! Off-leash area users are required to follow Animal Licensing and Control Bylaw C13145 andParkland Bylaw C2202.
