The Blue Gecko Community Garden

Welcome to the Inglewood Community Garden web page. We invite you to check out the site and visit the garden at 12525-116 Avenue, Edmonton Alberta. The Community Garden is possible thanks to support from the Inglewood Community League and active volunteers in the community and perhaps even people like you…
How to Become Involved
Plots are available for the 2018 garden season. Plots are assigned to, and harvested by, individuals, families or households. We also welcome community groups who would like to maintain a plot collectively. If you are interested in joining the garden as a new member, please contact Rachel at bluegeckogarden@gmail.com prior to May 10, 2018. If you miss the deadline for 2018, please get in touch to be put on the wait list.

We also welcome volunteers who are interested in becoming involved in the garden without taking on an individual plot. Possible roles include involvement in the garden committee, special projects including community outreach, workshops, or composting, or adopting a flower bed. Contact Rachel at bluegeckogarden@gmail.com at any time throughout the season.

Garden Rules and Operations
Each plot in the garden is harvested by an individual, family, household or community group who belongs to the garden. If you are interested in gardening a plot, please get in touch! (See contact info below). The garden season runs from late May through September/October each year, with start/end dates adjusted according to weather conditions.

We welcome all visitors, but ask that children and pets be supervised while in the garden space.

Produce growing in the garden box labelled “U-Pick” may be harvested by any community member, but please take only a little at a time. If you are not sure how to harvest without damaging a plant, ask a garden member!

FOR ALL OTHER BOXES, please do not pick or otherwise touch the produce unless invited to by a member of the garden.
