Upcoming Blue Gecko events

Volunteer Day-This year we plan to finish our composting bins and get them operational by putting on the doors. We are building pollinator beds to encourage the health and prosperity of our local bee population. We would love to have as much help as possible from the community to achieve these task. Invite your friends and neighbors to come along. Lots of hands make light work. We will be meeting at the garden at 10:00 AM.

Blue Gecko Garden Potluck Picnic-

2014 Growing Season meeting

Welcome gardeners, we are hosting our opening meeting of the 2014 growing season for the Blue Gecko Community Garden Saturday April 12, at 1:00 PM at the Inglewood Community Hall on the second floor. There will be a small seed exchange and gardeners will be assigned their boxes. We will be going over the gardening contract which explains the duties and responsibilities of participating in our community garden. All fees related to the garden will be collected at this meeting. 4’x8′ boxes are $25 and 4’x4′ boxes are $15 for the 2014 season. There is a $20 deposit in addition to the box fee. This deposit will be returned at the end of the season if the gardening contract is fulfilled.

About us

We are a program under the Inglewood Community League, who have graciously allowed us to create the garden on their grounds.  We presently have eight planter boxes that are 8’x4′ and two planter boxes that are 4’x4′.  Our plan is to have all the boxes built up to the 24″ level for the 2013 planting season so that gardeners of all abilities can participate in the garden.
